Forming an unlikely friendship amid the fossil fuel divestment campaign at Harvard, Kenyan clean energy entrepreneur Tom Osborn and American climate writer and strategist Eve Driver reckon with coming of age in a generation confused and divided about how to save itself.
We alternate chapters and tell the story of our rocky, transformative friendship in hopes of illuminating both the power and pitfalls of good-faith disagreement — in our case, about the best way to transition off fossil fuels. I did a 30-stop book tour including bookstores, college classrooms, and festivals across the United States and Kenya. One of these stops was the Center for Ethics at Harvard, where I am now a fellow focused on cultures of disagreement. In Fall 2025, the book was recommended to all Harvard freshmen as part of their opening lecture. You can read reviews of the book and tour here and here.
